I was not sure if Mr Ghost was working properly. I could not find any surges in EMF around my home. I found out it was working properly when I powered up my old tube TV. The reading went from 8-9 to over 1000.
Question: Is there a correct way to hold the phone? Should the phone point to something or should it be held perpendicular to the ground?
So far I am really enjoying Mr Ghost.

From what I've done...pointing it is just fine.

Old TVs can be somewhat unsettling.
As far as holding Mr.Ghost: parallel with the floor and swinging it back and forth is best for gyro mode. Like MiggWilson said, just pointing it is fine. For detecting smaller fields, I'll hold it so the antenna is as close as possible to a potential source. For example, try holding it against the wall near a light switch and flicking the light switch on and off.
